Senior AutoCAD Drafter 2D/Designer

 

Job Description:

Seeking a Senior Drafter/Designer for a HVAC/R role in Portland, OR. Prior experience with commercial/industrial mechanical (HVAC/R) projects is preferred. This role requires in-person, in-office and on-site work.  Open to a four-day work week (4 x 10-hour shifts).

Description:

– Create mechanical HVAC/R drawings to meet mechanical permit process, construction requirements and client needs.

– Coordinate with other designer and engineers to develop design package needs.

– Ensure quality control by complying with team Design and CAD standards.

– Attend design review meetings, note all design comments, and pick up the resulting redlines.

– Provide quality reviews of models and documents prepared by others to assure design and project standards are met.

Typical Duties:

– Provide 2D layouts and drawings based on engineered design and field input.

– Produce Bill of Materials including appropriate pipe, fittings, hangers, and construction materials.

– Produce accurate as built drawings based on field mark-ups for close-out documents.

– Become proficient in the use of AutoCAD Draft Site.

– Become proficient in the use company Draft Site and drafting standards.

– Review submittals for design conformance.

– Perform site visits as required to obtain information and review installation.

– Assist the engineer in producing specific details or renderings when required.

 

Alternate Duties:

– Support project managers in both design and estimating projects.

– Support field foreman in coordination and design modification efforts.

– Become knowledgeable HVAC/R system piping and equipment detailing.

– Attend in-house project pre-construction and post-construction meetings.

– Provide assistance to RFI’s when required.

– Assist others with creation of required project close-out documentation for HVAC/R.

 

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

– AA degree in Mechanical Design preferred, but open to drafter/designer experience in lieu of degree.

– Proficient in AutoCAD

– Design experience in a variety of commercial/industrial mechanical HVAC/R projects.
